Rumor Has It...

Top Chef will be shooting Season 5 here in NYC in July and August. Whoo-hoo! Time to look for the fleets of Rav 4's rolling down 5th avenue.

Where would the TC kitchen be located? Does FN have a NY studio?

They could use the facilities at the French Culinary institute like they did for the Manhattan episode of season 3, I would imagine.

Food Network's studios are located in Chelsea Market on 14th and 9th (or is it 10th)? I went there for an Iron Chef taping a few years ago when a friend of mine worked there. Unfortunately he's moved on so I don't have an in any more. Anyway if you wanted to stalk Next Food Network Star or Rachael Ray or Emeril or pretty much any of the other FN studio shows that's where you go.

This is a Sweetmeal Digestive Biscuit . It is the finest cracker I have ever eaten. I love it with either a bit of mild blue cheese (which unfortunately for me they only identify as "blue mould cheese" on the buffet) or on its own. It is delicious, and I will be harassing my nephew who is currently in the UK for the summer to bring some back for me as I don't think they're easily found in the US. What else have I been eating? Well, finally had some reindeer filet last night. Looks like beef, is tender like filet mignon but has a slightly stronger beefy flavor. Still, if I told you it was cow you'd probably believe it. The difference is subtle. It was served with a "potato cake", really scalloped and gratined potatoes formed into a square and a berry (forgot which one) sauce. Enjoyed that dish at the Glenfiddich restaurant in Gamla Stan which besides obviously having a wide selection of single malts claimed to serve the largest variety of Swedish microbre

Anniversary Day

Happy anniversary to my lovely wife. I like to think I've given her four of the happiest years of her life. Of course we were married on this date in 1990 so you can do the math on that one. But seriously folks....I'm very, very lucky to have her. I hope she's having as much fun as I am.
