Friday Is A Two Cup Day

Cup #1 from a coffee cart: a forest (pine) green cup with cartoonish art-deco-y bottles, cups, salt shakers and other food implements sketched on it in white. There is a white oval about a half-inch from the top of the cup that is blank. The bottom rim offers no information - there's no way of finding out where this cup came from! What a drag.

Cup #2 from the Flavors branch that just opened in our building. No point in describing it because it's a cup made for the chain itself and has the website printed right on it so you can see for yourself: www.flavorstogo.com. If you happen to be named Coach Ray and are reading this, please do not go to that website, I do not want you to be upset on a fine springtime Friday.

When I started examining cups I didn't think it would be this darned interesting. Maybe I'll start bringing a camera to work to photograph the samples. Maybe I should start up an entirely separate blog dedicated to the subject. Nah, what the hell would I do here then? Between cups, the Facebook Turkey Saga and my next little hobby (you'll see in a minute) I just wouldn't have the time. So the cups stay here.

Regarding that next little hobby: does anyone know how to upload sound files to blogger or know where there's a free podcast hosting site? I just bought a digital voice recorder to start collecting found sound and maybe do some monologues. This text and pictures thing is getting a little old, frankly. It's the 21st century. Who even reads or looks at still images anymore?

Blogger does not support uploading audio files. The only think you could do is use windows movie maker or something similar to make a "movie" with your sound clip and a still picture and upload it as a video.

Drift

More than halfway done but still a decent amount of time (4 weeks) to go. The constant fatigue at this point gives life a soft-edged glow and the vague feeling of being adrift, floating, with occasional waves of panic crashing over one's head that are registered and reacted to and then distracted away by something because it's too tiring to be panicked for too long. Somebody's really warping that fucking plastic blue ring though.  I'm not getting it close to back to round anymore. Different guy handled my transport this morning.  An ex sales guy who talked way too fucking much and interrogated me about my life.  Eventually I took my phone out and pretended I was answering work e-mails.  I like my regular driver, a retired, blue collar guy who when we drive by this place says things like "Man, a life-sized fucking gorilla don't come cheap". This is a Sweetmeal Digestive Biscuit . It is the finest cracker I have ever eaten. I love it with either a bit of mild blue cheese (which unfortunately for me they only identify as "blue mould cheese" on the buffet) or on its own. It is delicious, and I will be harassing my nephew who is currently in the UK for the summer to bring some back for me as I don't think they're easily found in the US. What else have I been eating? Well, finally had some reindeer filet last night. Looks like beef, is tender like filet mignon but has a slightly stronger beefy flavor. Still, if I told you it was cow you'd probably believe it. The difference is subtle. It was served with a "potato cake", really scalloped and gratined potatoes formed into a square and a berry (forgot which one) sauce.
